Gene Shinn of the SPFC has been notified that he and co-authors Chris Reich and Don Hickey will receive the 1999 SEPM Best Paper Award for his oral presentation, "Tidal Pumping as a Diagenetic Agent." The award will be presented at the AAPG/SEPM Annual Meeting in New Orleans in 2000. This is the second consecutive winning year for Gene, who was also recipient of the 1998 SEPM Honorable Mention for his presentation, "Did Dust Do It?"
