Woods Hole Field Center Arrivals and Departures
Erika Hammar-Klose joined the WHFC Seafloor Mapping Group this week as an ECO intern. She comes to us from Lehigh University where she received her MS in environmental geophysics. She will be working on sea-level rise assessment studies with Rob Thieler. Sunita Shah will join the WHFC Pollution Group this month as an ECO intern. She comes to us from Columbia University where she majored in biochemistry. She will be working with Ellen Mecray on the carbon analysis and GIS graphics for Long Island Sound and New York Bight sediments. Summer students Jason Yonehiro (UC Santa Cruz) and Andrew King (Scripps) returned to California in mid-September after several months of hard work in Woods Hole. Jason helped with geochemical lab work on sediments from Chesapeake Bay, and Andrew did some modeling of radioisotope deposition and decay on Long Island Sound sediments. They will be missed.
