Laurent Hellequin recently joined the Pacific Seafloor Mapping group as a post-doc research scientist. Laurent received his Ph.D. from Rennes University, France, where he worked on extracting seafloor characteristics from the backscatter-signal strength of high-resolution multibeam data at IFREMER (Institut Français de Recherche pour l'Exploitation de la Mer). He earned his undergraduate degrees from the French National Institute of Technology and the National School of Engineering, both in Grenoble. His office is in Building 15, Room 1034, on the Menlo Park campus. Although Laurent is engrossed in signal and image processing, he is quite eager to learn strange new English phrases. Brush up on your high school French, then stop by and introduce yourself.
