Courtney Schupp has joined the WHFC as an ECO intern working with Rob Thieler and Jim O'Connell (WHOI Sea Grant). She will be updating the historical shoreline position and erosion rate database used by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for coastal management. The project is using digital orthophotographs to delineate the high-water shoreline throughout the state and will apply software originally developed by Rob and Bill Danforth to calculate erosion rates with data covering the last 150 years.

Andrew Fox has joined the WHFC as an ECO intern working with Jeff List. He will be quantifying large-scale shoreline change using a newly developed ground-based technique employing GPS. He will participate in field measurements of shoreline response during fair weather and storms and will contribute to data processing and interpretation.
